With computer viruses on the rise, loss or theft of customer-specific information, a new European regulation on data protection entered into force in May 2018

AFNOR is publishing a practical handbook to help understand how voluntary standards are essential to the implementation of appropriate actions.

This indispensable handbook focuses on:

  • The standards catalogue and how they help guarantee privacy protection
  • The normative references that apply according to « job » needs and in relation to the organizations’ sizes
  • A helpful tool for decision-making and accountability
  • Voluntary standards in response to legal and societal requirements

This handbook was prepared by the AFNOR standardization Committee « Security of information systems » CN SSI. This structure is in charge, at the national, European and international levels, of monitoring, coordinating and developing standards and reference documents in this field. The committee gathers together experts from organizations related to information and communication technologies in order to promote national expertise at the international level.
