ISO and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) have taken significant steps to incorporate climate change issues into the heart of ISO management standards. On 23 February 2024, they published a "Climate Action Changes" amendment

that applies to 31 major management system standards. Known as A1:2024, this amendment transforms climate change into a strategic topic and invites organizations to consider the associated issues.
